A friend of mine from Garmin sent me this video of Kingsley Holgate, detailing just some of his humanitarian adventures through Africa and it brought a lump to my throat.
Holgate undoubtedly has the best job in the world – being able to mix business with pleasure all for a good cause – and it must give him an immense amount of job satisfaction to be able to follow in the footsteps of past explorers, and even treading new paths, while bringing malria nets to the people in Africa who really need them.
I love Africa, and it’s things like this that make me so proud to be African. Heck, I’ve been on my share of African adventures and missions into places like Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique (not nearly on this scale though) and it always leaves me begging for more each time I come home to SA.
When people say “TIA bru” I just smile and say: “Yup, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world”.
